Sun, Sweat, and Mankato

June 29, 2010

The Vikings have released the dates for training camp, and I have one question: Who’s coming with me? Training camp is open to the public (unless Chilly changes his mind), and I will be making the trek down to Mankato, Minnesota at some point during the two-week practice session. I’ll let you know when I decide on a date, but you can rest assured knowing that I’ll be Tweeting the details of every punt, pass, or kick.

Between Vikings’ training camp and the Packers’ shareholders meeting, my trusty Camry will be putting on a lot of miles this summer. The things we do for love.

Tom Pelissero (Some of you may remember him from such films as “I used to cover the Packers for the Green Bay Press-Gazette“) of ESPN 1500 – Twin Cities provides the details to the official start of the 2010 Vikings’ season.

For those of you counting at home, that’s 14 days, 10 days of “two-a-day” practices, and one day off. Still want to be an NFL player?

Pelissero also marks down his date for the “when will Brett Favre return” office pool:

For those speculating about when Brett Favre might join the team, mark down Monday, Aug. 16, as one logical possibility. That’s the day the Vikings presumably will resume practice at their Winter Park headquarters in Eden Prairie.

Have no fear Vikings fans, only 31 days left until training camp.
