Vikings Sign Cook, Wait On Gerhart

July 29, 2010

Judd Zulgad reports that the Vikings have signed cornerback Chris Cook to a four-year deal.  The Vikings confirmed the signing as players began arriving in Mankato for the start of training camp.

According to the National Football Post, the four year deal “carries a maximum value of about $5.37 million” and includes a signing bonus of $2.3 million.

Cook was the first of two Vikings’ second-round selections. The other second-round pick, Toby Gerhart, is the only rookie not under contract. And according to Tom Pelissero of 1500ESPN, there has been no indication that the two sides will reach an agreement today.

And yes, I’m writing about the Vikings while I sit at a hotel within spitting distance of Lambeau Field. The horror.
