E.J. Henderson Update
E.J. Henderson is officially back. In a short-yardage drill in this morning’s practice, Henderson busted through the middle of the offensive line to stuff Adrian Peterson for no gain. It was Henderson’s first live action since breaking his leg on December 6. As Tom Pelissero of 1500ESPN – Twin Cities noted, Henderson enjoyed being back in action.
“It felt good, man,” Henderson said. “Felt good to get him down, get him to the ground, the live contact, come out a’ight.”
Henderson’s next test will be a preseason game. Which preseason game remains to be seen. After watching this morning’s practice, Mike Wobschall of Vikings.com believes the middle linebacker has a chance of playing this Saturday against the St. Louis Rams.
Henderson says he “would definitely like to play,” but it’s ultimately not his decision; that decision belongs to the Vikings coaching staff. And assistant head coach/defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier has not come to any decisions yet.
“We will just continue to monitor him the rest of this week and then make a determination at the end of the week,” said Frazier.
