Vikings Release Depth Chart

August 10, 2010
by

The Vikings have released their first official depth chart of the 2010 season. Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune provides the complete list right here. Although the names will move up and down as the preseason wears on, there are a few early surprises.

Running Back: There was little question who would top this list, but the name following Adrian Peterson is somewhat unexpected. Third year player Albert Young is listed second, leaving rookie Toby Gerhart third.

Middle Linebacker: In what is turning out to be a miraculous story, E.J. Henderson is listed as the number one middle linebacker.

Cornerback: Not surprisingly, the left cornerback is Antoine Winfield. However, the starting right cornerback is a bit unexpected: second-year man Asher Allen.

Kicker: Incumbent Ryan Longwell is listed ahead of Rhys Lloyd as kicker and on kickoffs.

The season is nearly upon us and the first depth chart provides a few clues into the coaches minds. Some players may feel slighted while some will be pleased. Regardless, everyone has to earn their spot during training camp.
