Vikings Notes: Harvin, Guion, and Javon Walker?
Some good news came out of Vikings camp this morning when Percy Harvin returned to the team’s facilities. Judd Zulgad reported the news via his Twitter account.
Percy Harvin is back standing on the sideline talking to OC Darrell Bevell and athletic trainer Eric Sugarman.
Harvin wore street clothes as he watched practice from the sidelines, but his appearance is a good sign considering he was just released from the hospital this morning.
In other Vikings news, a player to keep an eye on is backup defensive tackle Letroy Guion. The coaching staff is high on the third-year player out of Florida State and he continues to earn praise from the media during practice and the preseason. Vikings.com writer Mike Wobschall notes that Guion began as a “developmental project, but things seem to be clicking for him now.” He is definitely a player to watch when the Vikings take on the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday evening.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Javon Walker could be reunited with quarterback Brett Favre. The free agent wide receiver is in Eden Prairie today to work out for the Vikings. With the uncertain statuses of Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin, the Vikings are finding themselves thin at the wide receiver position.
Finally, you can hear all about Harvin, Walker, and, as always, a little Favre news at Brad Childress’ press conference today. It will be streamed live on Vikings.com.
