Yet Another Reason To Root For Greg Jennings

Greg Jennings is never satisfied. It’s not enough to be living the dream as a professional athlete. It’s not enough to have a Foundation for “Underprivileged Children and Families.” It’s not enough to spend your summer building homes for families in need. No, Greg Jennings wants more. Greg Jennings wants to do charity work and play football simultaneously.

Lori Nickel of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel details Jennings’ vision for the upcoming season. (Hat tip to Aaron Nagler for pointing out the article)

Jennings has just pledged to donate $1,000 to House of Hope, a Green Bay shelter for women and single mothers, for every time he catches a touchdown.

Jennings’ wife, Nicole, told Nickel about the personal impact a similar charity had on her own childhood.

“Growing up, my mother and I had a period in life where we had to lean on a facility similar to House of Hope for food and shelter,” Nicole said.

Greg added how fortunate he feels to be able to donate to such a good cause.

“We are blessed to be in a position to give back,” said Jennings. “And we have found a charity that is close to our hearts with the House of Hope. We hope to raise lots of money for them as long as I’m a Packer.”

Packers fan or not, it’s hard not to root for a guy like Greg Jennings. And if you are a Packers fan, you now have another reason to cheer when you see No. 85 dive into the crowd for another Lambeau Leap.
