Did Cullen Jenkins Pull A Bill Grammatica?

October 26, 2010

Green Bay Packers defensive end Cullen Jenkins sat on the sidelines as his team defeated the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night. It was revealed late in the game that Jenkins was not playing due to a calf injury.

Head coach Mike McCarthy said Jenkins suffered the calf injury during pre-game warmups. The question is which warmup exercise caused Jenkins to re-aggravate his calf?

Before the game, Jenkins was reportedly lining up to kick extra points. However, defensive line coach, Mike Trgovac, said Jenkins suffered the injury during normal drills, not while fooling around with the kicking team.

Regardless of how the injury occurred, the Packers are hoping that Jenkins will heal quickly. The Packers’ defensive line did an admirable job without him, but the team could really use another body on an already decimated defensive line.

We may never find out when Cullen Jenkins’ injury occurred, but at least he didn’t tear his ACL celebrating.
