Adrian Peterson’s MRI Reveals Ankle Sprain
Minnesota Vikings’ interim head coach Leslie Frazier offered some good news on the status of his star running back’s injured ankle. Speaking on 1500 ESPN – Twin Cities, Frazier said that Adrian Peterson’s ankle injury was only a sprain. Peterson’s status for Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills remains uncertain.
“Now, it’s just a matter of what he can or can’t do,” Frazier said.
The Vikings did not practice Tuesday, so Peterson will not be able to test his ankle until Wednesday at the earliest.
Peterson injured his ankle in Sunday’s win over the Washington Redskins and rookie running back Toby Gerhart filled in admirably.
As the team looks to put together its first back-to-back wins this season, Frazier must decide if the risk of further injury on Peterson’s ankle is worthwhile during a season that is all but lost.
