Al Harris’ Season Cut Short Again
The Miami Dolphins have placed cornerback Al Harris on injured-reserve. The move marks a premature ending to Harris’ year for a second straight season. The National Football Post reports that the 36-year-old Harris will be placed on IR due to a hamstring injury.
When I asked Al Harris’ agent, Jack Bechta, about Harris’ injury, he responded over Twitter that the hamstring injury was not on the same leg that shelved Harris last season and added that the injury was not too severe.
Harris signed with the Miami Dolphins last month after being released by the Green Bay Packers. Harris appeared in 3 games this season for the Dolphins and registered a tackle in each of those contests.
Immediately following last season’s knee injury, Harris contended that he would be back in 2010. He attacked his rehabilitation schedule and finally fought his way back to the field last month. Perhaps the additional time and rest will allow Harris to come back stronger next season.
