Packer fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Although the team’s injury report includes many names, only a handful of players have been ruled out for Sunday’s game. In a Friday press conference, head coach Mike McCarthy said 8 of the 13 players on the list are “probable” for Sunday’s game.

Most importantly, McCarthy said he is “optimistic” that cornerback Charles Woodson (toe, ankle) will play.

“When you’re dealing with Charles Woodson and injuries, you never get too nervous, because he’s always showed up,” said McCarthy. “That’s what history tells you when it comes with him overcoming things like that. The concern level was never very high based on the communication with Charles and the medical staff. I think he’ll be fine for Sunday.”

After being cleared to fully participate in practice on Thursday, McCarthy said he “anticipated” that left tackle Chad Clifton (concussion) will also play on Sunday.

Wide receiver Jordy Nelson was added to the injury report after sitting out of Friday’s practice with an ankle injury. McCarthy said the injury was nothing new, and he expected Nelson to be ready to go against the Lions.

As far as the remaining 10 players, 3 are listed as out: FB Korey Hall, DE Cullen Jenkins, and CB Pat Lee. S Atari Bigby and S Anthony Smith are both listed as questionable. 5 players are listed as probable and expected to play: S Nick Collins, WR Donald Driver, OLB Clay Matthews, DE Ryan Pickett, and WR Brett Swain.
