Cullen Jenkins May Be Done for the Year
The Green Bay Packers have already lost 13 players to injured-reserve. Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that the Packers may be adding one more name to that list: defensive end Cullen Jenkins.
Jenkins re-aggravated a calf injury that has plagued him since training camp in last week’s win over the San Francisco 49ers. Jenkins didn’t practice all week, and when asked about a timeframe for his return, Jenkins replied that he was unsure.
“You can’t rule out any possibility right now,” Jenkins said. “I have to take it week by week and see how it goes.”
With quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffering a concussion this week and Jenkins possibly done for the year, the Packers may be reaching the point of insurmountable injuries. The coaching staff has done an admirable job of preparing the team each week despite the inordinate amount of injuries this team has faced, but the latest injuries may prove too difficult to overcome.
Having said that, the NFL is a strange and wacky place. With 3 games left to play, anything can happen.
