Going TO TCF Bank Stadium Monday? Bring Warm Clothes & Running Shoes

As Minnesotans were hired to shovel snow out of the University of Minnesota’s football stadium, the Vikings announced their official seating plan for the team’s Monday night matchup against the Chicago Bears: Bring your running shoes.

The team announced that ticket holders for Monday’s game will be admitted to the game on a first-come, first-served basis. Seating throughout the stadium will be general admission, and fans will be admitted to the game at 5:00 p.m., with lines to begin queueing at 4:00 p.m.

The prospect of outdoor football for the first time in 29 years and the beginning of the Joe Webb era may draw a lot of attention, but a large number of ticket holders are still expected to stay home. The Vikings announced they would issue refunds (in the form of account credits) to ticket holders who choose not to attend the game.

In a somewhat fitting twist, Minnesotans were granted exactly what they have been clamoring for all season: Joe Webb under center and a stadium under the elements.

The current circumstances are not exactly how the purple-clad fans imagined, but I suppose the age-old axiom still rings true: Be careful what you wish for.
