What Could Be Better Than Packers vs. Bears For The NFC Championship

At 2:00 p.m. CDT today, the Packers will face off against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field for the George S. Halas trophy. The winner will advance to Super Bowl XLV, and the loser will be left behind to think about what could have been.

This should be an epic matchup. Of all the teams in the National Football League, the Packers and Bears matchup as good as anyone. In both meetings this season, the final tally came down to a margin of 7 points or less. The Bears “bend but don’t break” philosophy on defense effectively tapers the potent Packers’ offense, but Packers’ head coach Mike McCarthy has found a new balance on offense this postseason. Lovie Smith and the Bears have found a way to win all season long and the NFC North champions are looking to do what they couldn’t in week 17 of the regular season — knock their arch-rivals out of the playoffs.

May the better team win. And I think we all know who that is.
