Silverstein On James Jones

Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel dissected the pecking order of the Packers’ wide receivers with surgeon-like precision as he provided some insight into why the Packers have not made more of an effort to re-sign James Jones.

In a blog post titled, “Examining James Jones’ future with the Packers,” Silverstein notes that “there’s a certain detachment from reality in Jones’ belief that there hasn’t been an opportunity for him to be a starter in Green Bay.”

Earlier this week, Jones told reporters that he wants to start but doesn’t think that’s a possibility playing behind Donald Driver.

Silverstein purports that Donald Driver is not standing between Jones and more playing time; rather it’s Jones’ play — or lack thereof — that is dropping him down the depth chart.

There is a lot more to Silverstein’s logical conclusion, but you’ll have to head over to the Journal Sentinel’s webpage to read the rest of the story. (Click here to read the entire article.)
