Party At Winter Park And You’re Invited
The Minnesota Vikings are bringing back their annual draft party to team facilities in Eden Prairie this year. In 2010, the team took the party to the fans, but this year the party returns home to Winter Park.
The always-popular event for Vikings fans will take place on Thursday, April 28 during the 1st round of the 2011 NFL Draft. General admission tickets go on sale Friday, April 1. Tickets are just $10 and can be purchased at vikings.com. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the event should last until 9:30 p.m.
The radio home of the Vikings, KFAN Radio (AM 1130), will provide live local coverage of the event from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. broadcasting on site. The evening will include a few special guest appearances, and will also feature Viktor the Viking and the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders. Fans can enjoy live NFL Network coverage of the 1st round of the draft on the large screen. Great tailgate fare and prizes will be given away throughout the evening.
Since players are currently locked out from team facilities, the “special guest appearances” will most likely be former Vikings players. The ambiguity surrounding the special guests allows the team some flexibility should the labor situation be resolved prior to the draft.
Regardless of who the team brings in, it should be a raucous and rowdy event for the purple faithful. I’ll see you there.
