Another Former Packers Quarterback To Wear Purple?
Add another name to the list of potential Vikings quarterbacks for the 2011 season. On Monday, ESPN’s John Clayton cited Minnesota as a possible landing spot for Seahawks’ quarterback Matt Hasselbeck.
Clayton, speaking on The Kevin Calabro Show on 710 ESPN Seattle, said “the odds are now slipping away that Matt’s going to be (in Seattle).” He went on to name Arizona, Miami, and Minnesota as possible suitors for the 35-year-old quarterback.
Vikings’ head coach Leslie Frazier has publicly stated that the team would like to find its quarterback of the future in the upcoming draft, but a veteran like Hasselbeck may buy a rookie some extra time to learn the system and get used to the fast-paced action of the NFL. And staring at the prospect of a shortened, or completely eliminated, offseason to learn a new system, a veteran quarterback may be just what the team needs to help develop a young signal-caller.
