NFL Commissioner And Minnesota Governor To Discuss New Stadium

Time is running out on a Vikings stadium.

With less than a week remaining in the legislative session and Minnesota lawmakers unable to agree on anything, the chances of a new Vikings stadium are slowly dwindling away.

In an attempt to breathe new life into the stadium talks, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell toured the possible site for a new stadium on Monday.

According to Fox 9 News’ Jeff Goldberg, Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton and Commissioner Goodell will hold a press conference Tuesday morning to discuss “potential plans for building a new football stadium in Minnesota.”

Meanwhile, stadium opponents believe they have found a loophole that will allow voters to decide whether or not to fund a new stadium. Regardless of any bill the legislature may pass, opponents say they can put the issue to a vote on November’s ballot.

A number of obstacles remain between the Vikings and a new stadium, but that’s not stopping the commissioner from throwing one last hail mary. Let’s hope someone catches it.
